PSP Review |
PlayStation Portable is a unique toy presented to us by Sony. PSP is
the first handheld game console that uses an optical disc. Of course
the PSP has its competitors, but there are not many of them - the
Nintendo DS, the Gameboy etc. We can truly say that this is the best
handheld game console, and even the price
is not very high. PSP was launched officially in 2005 in Japan and USA
almost at the same time. On PSP you can watch the movies (thanks to a
UMD drive installed on the unit), listen to the music (this feature is
possible only when headphones are connected to the PSP), play
your favorite video games
from PS2 and PS3
offline or with you friends online.
PSP has a capability to the PS2,
PS3 or another PSP, because there is a WLAN driver or you can play via
Internet.
There are several variations of the PSP -
PSP - 1000, PSP - 2000 and PSP - 3000. The first PSP was the PSP -
1000. It is not produced now. Nowadays there is only PSP -
model 3000. It
has many additional features that other variations of PSP don't have.
For example, there is a Skype application and you can (using the
headphones and a
microphone) use it from your portable
game
console. Also you can play
via Internet on a special Sony's game-servers. The operating system is
just like in the PS3 - the System Software and has all the options that
PS3 has. And you can change so-called themes on the PSP. The graphical
interface and definition feature are, certainly, not like PS3 has, but
are rather good. And the graphics in the PSP is the best among its
competitors. Definitely, it's the best portable media tool, but the
sales of the Nintendo DS are higher.
